Life with Neuropathic Pain
Regardless of the specific condition, coping with the painful symptoms of orofacial neuropathies can be a difficult and stressful experience. These little understood conditions pose an added challenge as the uncertainty regarding the cause of the pain can make a sufferer feel a loss of control or helplessness. Furthermore, the debilitating pain of a neuropathic disorder may prevent a patient from participating in enjoyable activities. As a result, it's not uncommon that depression and anxiety develop in individuals with chronic neuropathic pain conditions. Efforts can be made to reduce pain symptoms and maintain a level of normal activity. Relaxation techniques, meditation and engaging in enjoyable hobbies and activities that a patient is able to do may offer some relief from psychological stresses. By continuing to do normal daily activities as able while allowing oneself needed rest, a neuropathic pain patient can continue to feel in control of his or her life. One suffering from a chronic neuropathic condition may also find mental relief by maintaining an active treatment regimen, including taking prescribed medications, performing physical therapy exercises and following other recommendations from a healthcare professional. A mental health professional may also be able to help a patient manage feelings of anger or frustration caused by the condition. Support groups for sufferers can offer a community that can relate to the challenges posed by the condition, sharing advice for pain management and support based in personal experience and understanding. The Facial Pain Association is a support group for trigeminal neuralgia patients. Those with CRPS may find support in various groups such as American RSDHope. The National Pain Foundation has online forums and support groups for chronic pain sufferers.

Testimonials
"I've had a wonderful experience at this dental practice. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. Mrs. Moore knows her teeth cleaning! She gave me a ton of valuable advice during and after my cleaning (I have a few spots that are very sensitive to heat and cold). This is a family run dentistry and everyone treats you with warmth and a friendly smile. Can't find any reasons to complain about."
"My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Moore for approximately 15 years- during that time we have always received excellent care from him and his staff. They are a friendly and courteous group of people, and over the years we have received valuable information- without pressure- for maintaining and improving our dental care. I really appreciate his work ethics and trust his professional opinion regarding whether procedures need to be performed or not."
"What a great dentist office! The employees (basically of staff of pretty young women) are super nice and helpful and the quality of their dental care is top-notch. Maybe this is because I'm from Kentucky, but I've never been to a dentist with such high-tech dental equipment. I was a bit overwhelmed with the thoroughness of the exam. They x-rayed every millimeter of my mouth, examined my gum line, checked for cancer, cleaned my teeth, and actually took time to discuss my dental health in detail. And as if that wasn't enough, they even squared everything with my insurance and I didn't have to do a thing! Oh yeah, and they even called the house to follow-up after the visit. Wow... My teeth have never felt better."
"My family has never had a good experience at a dentist until I found Dr. Moore and his wonderful staff! Have you ever heard of a child actually WANTING to go to the dentist? Well mine do! This man and his staff make me and my kids feel like we are a part of their family. They're completely thorough, explain everything they are going to do, make sure that we are comfortable and to be quite honest, I'm never in pain when I get home. The way they treat my kids is extraordinary. They do not talk down to them, they ask questions and really listen when my kids talk. If ever I am having pain, they fit me into their schedule. They make me feel important, not like "just another patient". This Dentist's office is the best I have been to, and I highly recommend it to everyone! You'll love going to the dentist! OK., maybe not "love" it, but I guarantee you'll have a wonderful experience."
